Beetle

Description

This is a real hercules beetle. It died of natural causes. It has been dried, sealed and coated in a thick shell of electroformed copper. There is a loop attached for hanging. The pendant measures approximately 1.25″ long, including the loop, and 1/2″ across at the widest point.

This piece has been aged with a natural patina solution. Copper patinas naturally over time, dependant on the environment it is in. You can be assured the finish will change, but just HOW it changes will depend on its owner.

Electroforming is an electrochemical process where copper is dissolved from one object and deposited on another. I source my copper “donor” materials from a plumbing company, so their waste product is actually recycled into my pieces.
